The object of the Club is to maintain and foster, locally, social and professional comradeship amongst Master Mariners and others of close nautical affiliation and to afford the opportunity for discussion of matters of both nautical and general interest; and to sponsor selected nautical projects. To this end, Members and their guests meet regularly at luncheon or dinner, at a place selected by the Committee. The Club currently meet for luncheon each month, on the third Tuesday (12 noon for 12:45 pm), at the Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club and, on most occasions we are afterwards entertained by a speaker. The subjects covered are mainly nautical though we do have some very interesting non-nautical subjects from time to time.

Membership is open to suitably qualified persons – Full membership requires the applicant to hold a valid United Kingdom Certificate of Competency as Master, Unlimited or equivalent. Associate membership may be granted where the applicant, in the opinion of the committee, holds a valid Certificate of Competency as Chief Mate (Unlimited), or OOW (Unlimited), issued by the MCA, and persons who, in the opinion of the Committee, are suitable to become Associate Members of the Club, preference being given to persons having some connection with the sea and ships.

Calling all Seafarers Past & Present.

We need you!

Do you live in East Anglia and are you looking to meet occasionally with like-minded seafarers who enjoy a regular catch-up with others and the latest news, listening to interesting speakers, consuming good food at lunchtime and all in an atmosphere of high standards, good manners, smart dress code, cordiality and friendship?

If you answered yes to any part of that question, you may be interested to learn that the Felixstowe Master Mariners Club would like to hear from you. You may be assured of a warm welcome as the Club seeks to add certificated Masters, Pilots, Mates, Apprentices and other suitably qualified applicants, both male and female, to its membership. If you are still at sea or now ashore we invite you to join us either as a Full or as an Associate Member.

If you have a question or you need more information, click here to contact us secretary@mastermariners.uk and we look forward to hearing from you.
